Nails of the Day....or the next few days, I suppose

Hello Everyone!
First off I just wanted to thank everyone who has been following me and commenting on my posts. You're all lovely and so kind! I feel so welcomed into the blogosphere, haha......but, seriously.

I just thought I'd do a quick post on what I'm currently wearing on my nails which also happens to be my current favorite nail polish.

This picture came out kind of awful, but I just snapped it quickly on my way out the door yesterday. I would re-do it, but now my nails are beginning to chip and are not decent enough for any photographing! Anyways, this is Barefoot in Barcelona by OPI, and let me just first say that in person it is a bit darker and more pink toned than it appears in the picture (just a bit!). I actually purchased this over a year ago, but it is definitely still my most worn polish.

What's your current favorite nail color!?

For my Fellow LUSH Lovers

Alright guys! Here's a post containing all my current LUSH products (minus my strawberry feels massage bar). I don't have that many products, I know, but I am currently going through the interview process there and needless to say if I get the job I will be living a lavish LUSH life.

Startin' it off with a fresh face mask! This is the Love Lettuce fresh face mask and is said to be the most exfoliating of their face masks. It contains ground almonds which do the exfoliating job. I love the way this makes my face feel; so fresh and clean. Since these or fresh, they need to be kept refrigerated and expire after about a month!

I didn't take an individual picture of the Breath of Fresh Air toner, but it's the one pictured above in the spray bottle. This toner is suitable for all face types and is very refreshing and calming due to the Aloe Vera in it. LUSH recommends spraying this all over your face and putting your moisturizer directly over it.

So, the Imperialis moisturizer. This moisturizer is the one recommended by LUSH if you're new to their skincare, and is suitable for all skin types. At first I thought the smell was a bit odd, but it seriously grows on you and now I love it. The moisturizer is pink and creamy, and as they say on their site, a little really does go a long way, especially when using it over your toner. I was never good about taking care of my skin until I purchased these products and I have noticed that I now have a much brighter and even-toned complexion.

These are just a few samples that were given to me when I attended LUSH's hiring party. I haven't used the Lemony Flutter and Helping Hands enough to tell if they really have an effect on my hands, but I can tell you that the Lemony Flutter smells DIVINE. As I mentioned be for I'm in love with citrus scents, flavors, anything. ESPECIALLY LEMON! and this definitely has a lemony smell as the name rightly suggests (by the way, it is a cuticle butter). However, the Dark Angels is wonderful and even my boyfriend said that it feels good on his face. I'm not going to go into too much detail, but it's an exfoliating facial scrub and can be a bit messy as you're essentially scrubbing a black paste into your face so using it in the shower may help to keep your sinks clean!

Any questions about these products or the strawberry feels massage bar?
Just ask in the comments!

My Face!

Just thought I'd post this photo of myself from the other night. I desperately need a haircut. Straightening thick curly hair definitely takes a toll quickly no matter how much heat protectant you.

Does anyone know any miracle products for straightening unruly curly hair that help keep it healthy?
please let me know!

My First Wishlist: Urban Outfitters Edition

This doesn't look too professional considering I haven't mastered my photoshop skills, but here are some things I'm currently craving from Urban Outfitters. I do work there, but unfortunately can't afford these things at the moment, so I'll just continue to drool over them while I'm working.

1. Pins and Needles Angora Ombre Stripe Sweater : Not much to say about this. I love the colors and need to stock up on sweaters for the fall/winter!
2. Skull Bracelet : I spotted this beauty tonight at work for the first time and instantly fell in love. The string part comes in a few different colors in the store, although online they only have blue and purple.
3. Boho Glass Candle : This candle smells like candy to me and I want it! I want it so bad! However, at 32 dollars it's a bit pricey for a candle. The description on the website claims 60+ hours of burn time and describes the scent as persimmon, citrus, and jasmine notes. I'm a sucker for citrus everything.
4. Fleece-Lined Tight : These look like plain ol' opaque black tight, but they are so much more. I love my leggings and tights, but they don't do much for warmth in the colder months. The inside of these is lined with fleece, perfect for the cold weather!
5. Jeffrey Campbell Leather Lita Boot : I've wanted a pair of Lita's since the first time I laid eyes on them, but I haven't been able to justify buying them to myself. I always worry that I won't wear them often enough, but for now they're still on my wishlist.

What clothing items have you had your eye on lately?

Lion Life

I'm really making an effort to keep up with this regularly, but sometimes it's just a bit of a hassle to get out the camera and the beauty products and swatch and get good pictures and edit the pictures and upload the pictures and write about them...phew. Especially at 11pm. So, I figured I'd just do a little bit of a life update/things about me.

So far in October not too much has been happening. I attend school in Chicago and live in the suburbs, so four days a week I take a nice hour long train ride to and from the city. Besides school, I've been working a bit on the weekends, though I'm not getting very many hours. I'm currently working at my local Urban Outfitters, but long nights of clothes folding just isn't my thing anymore. That being said, I went to a hiring party at LUSH cosmetics. A job at LUSH, now that's what I'm talkin' about, amiright? It was actually really fun and they gave all the girls a few samples to bring home which I thought was really awesome. I'll probably do a blog post on those when I get around to it. If any one who happens to read this has any questions about that, then please please ask in the comments!

My life has been a bit slow and fun-lacking lately, but with Halloween coming up exciting things will be happening. I have a Halloween party that I'll be attending on the 20th with some friends I haven't seen in almost a year, my boyfriend's birthday on the 25th, a concert that I'll be going to with him and our friends on the 26th, and another Halloween party at the college our friends attend on the 27th. Needless to say, I'll be broke by the end of October.

Any questions? Any blogs you think I should check out? Let me know!

Back at it

GUYS GUYS GUYS!
I'm actually going to do a for real post right now. So, since it's Columbus Day and many many students had the day off from classes (excluding me of course), I decided to declare my own day off. My younger brother was out of school and my mom had the day off work since she ran the Chicago Marathon yesterday so I opted to stay home with them, after the fact realizing I missed a lab assignment. Extra credit here I come.

Anyways, my mom did great in the marathon finishing in 3 hours and 53 minutes and also qualified for the Boston Marathon which she is still debating over participating in. It was a tiring day for me running around the city and then going to work immediately after. I have the sorest legs today and feel like a bit of a weakling considering my mom ran 26.2 miles and is doing just great.

But, on to the real post. I just have a few pictures and swatches of makeup I've acquired recently.

Oh my, would you look at these beauties. I picked both of these blushes up because of essiebutton's video on her top 5 favorite blushes. She just happens to be my all time favorite beauty blogger and youtuber. On the left is NARS sin and on the right is NYX terra cotta.

I'm a big time lover of plum tones and when Essie mentioned this blush I couldn't resist. This is my first high end blush (I'm just getting into high end makeup) and it is a beautiful color for the fall, especially paired with a plum lip as Essie mentioned as well. (seriously, go check her out)

Here is terra cotta which Essie recommended as a good dupe for NARS luster, and being a college student on a budget I couldn't bring myself to buy two NARS blushes. However, NYX is also wonderful and very very affordable. I'm not too great at describing colors but to me this seems like a bronzy peach color. I think this is a very versatile blush and would look great in the summer as well for a bronzed look.

On two separate occasions I picked up some Real Techniques brushes because they've been so hyped up lately. I originally went to Ulta to get the expert face brush, but they didn't have it so i ended up getting the foundation brush (second from the left) which is still wonderful for applying foundation. I also picked up the shading brush (fourth from the right) at the same time as the foundation brush. This brush is great for packing eyeshadow on. The brushes were buy on get one half off at the time and I paid only 8 dollars for both! Very good quality brushes for a very good price. I loved them so much that a few weeks later I went back and got the blush brush (far left, obviously) and the starter set which includes all the purple brushes, minus the shading brush i already mentioned. I'm not too fond of the blush brush for actually applying blush but it's proven wonderful for powder.

This is getting a bit long, so I think I'll end it here. I have gotten a few more things in the past months since I've been posting, but I'll leave those for another time. Thanks for reading, if you did!

Hi, I failed

Obviously I'm not good at sticking to things, but blogging is something I really want to do.
So that being said, hopefully I'm going to be posting more often (at least I plan to).
....starting tomorrow, since it's quite late right now.

Target Haul!

I decided i needed some new makeup the other day and took a trip to Target thinking that I wouldn't spend too much  money on drugstore products, but as usual, I ended up spending more than I had hoped.

I snapped some quick photos, but obviously I don't have too many photography skills under my belt and the lighting is horrible and some of the colors are off.

I'll start with the Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow. The color is number 25 Bad to the Bronze and I am loving this so far. I think I much prefer cream eyeshadows over powder.
Now this is where the colors don't come out right. The Revlon nail polish is most definitely not that orange in person. It's a coral color number 110 called Marmalade. The Essie nail polish is from the lux effects collections and is called "Set in Stones." I'm obsessed with this one.

This is the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in 040 Rendezvous. I, like everyone else, love these and already had one, but the name of it is slipping my mind at the moment. The lighting in this picture also distorts the color. The swatch looks bright orange, but it is a bit more coraly in actual life.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser in Brightener. I love the applicator on this. you twist it up and the product fills into the spongey applicator at the top and you just swipe it under your eyes. I was really looking for something to brighten up my eyes, but I am still undecided on this one. It is summer (obviously) and I have gotten quite tan and this shade is very like for my skin even as a brightener, but I am still able to make it work. Not completely sold on this.

Revlon Colorstay Foundation in 250 Fresh Beige. In my life, I've owned maybe 2 or 3 other drugstore liquid foundations and no high-end ones as i don't  particularly wear liquid foundation often. I just thought I'd try this out since I've heard probably the best things about it compared to other drugstore foundations. I was really worried about picking the right color for my skin, but ended up hitting it right on the dot. I haven't used this much, so I don't have a solid opinion on it yet.

Here's a random. I already got rid of the packaging for this, but it's a Glade candle in the scent "Clean Linen" and it smells like, well... clean linens! I've always loved these type of smells and had to have it in candle form. It was $2.99 so I figured why not?

Last, but MOST DEFINITELY not least, the Pixi endless silky eye pen in Oyster Glow. It's worth the $15. Please go buy one if you don't own one already. That's all i have to say about this.

And here's a better picture of the swatch. These eye pens are seriously endless and seriously silky.

That's all guys!

Hello, is anybody there!?

Despite the fact that I have only one follower and no avid readers, I'd still like to keep up with this blog and am disappointed that i let myself go nearly 20 days without any blog posts. It's a bit late right now and I'm headed off to bed, but coming up in the next few days I will have a Target haul and my July birchbox to show you guys.

Updatin'

Hey guys!
I figured i'd post a quick update since i haven't made a post in a while and I have nothing in particular to write about. Unfortunately, I still haven't found my Fresh perfume that i lost (pretty pissed about this still) and am going to have to purchase a new one if it doesn't show up soon because I love it that much.

As you may have noticed (or probably not since i have no followers and no one reads this, maybe someday) I changed my blog name to Little Red. This is a name that my boyfriend started calling me as a joke after i started dying my hair with henna. My hair is naturally curly and has a red tone as it is, but seeing as i'd never dyed my hair before henna, i decided i wanted a change. I have naturally curly hair and henna is not only a natural hair dye, but it is also conditioning. It stains your hair red and is a permanent dye and will not wash out or fade.

I did a henna dye over night last night with a new type of henna called Jamila and am waiting to see how it turns out since it takes 3-5 days to completely oxidize to the true color (not such a great thing for super impatient people like me). But anyways, if you wanna know more about how to use henna to dye your hair or things along that line just let me know.

I'm now just hanging around at my house waiting for my boyfriend to wake up, mind you it's 6pm here and he's still sleeping. He's messed up his sleeping schedule to say the least. But, that's about all i have to say. Talk to you soon!

SO SAD

GUYS!
I've misplaced my little perfume rollerball by fresh that i featured in my birthday haul. It was my favorite scent ever and I've been searching for it relentlessly for the past couple days and no luck. I've literally checked all over my house and in my car and at my boyfriend's house and in his car. I have no idea where it can be and I'm so upset!
Wish me luck finding it :/

My First Ever Birchbox!

Hey guys!
Okay so today I got some lunch at Red Lobster with some of my family members and when I got home my first ever Birchbox was waiting for me. I was having a really rough day so I was happy to see this.

Birchbox is a monthly subscription service and for ten dollars a month you receive 4-6 beauty samples! You can check it out here.

So I'll show you guys what came in my box for the month of June.

1. beautyblender blendercleanser- I do not have a beautyblender, but this product can be used to clean any makeup brushes or sponges. I have not tried this yet.
2. Comodynes Self-Tanning Intensive- These are little self tanning towelettes. I've never used a self tanning product before, but i will definitely be trying these out.
3. Number 4 Super Comb Prep & Protect- A leave in hair product that detangles and defrizzes. I have naturally curly hair so I'm excited for this one although it doesn't have the best smell.
4. theBalm Staniac- The color is called Beauty Queen and it's a lip and cheek stain. I used this today as soon as I got it on both my lips and cheeks. It didn't seem to last very long on my lips, but i applied it to my cheeks around 3pm today and it's now 11pm and it's still there. Definitely loving this product as a cheek stain.
EXTRAS:
5. tili Bag- I now realize that I didn't really make this visible in the pictures, but it's the little pink bag peeking out from under the other products. It's cute, but essentially just a printed zip-lock bag.
6. John Varvatos- A men's cologne. It was nice having an extra in their that I could pass on to my boyfriend.

So that's my June Birchbox! In July Birchbox is teaming up with Glamour so I'm super excited to see what samples they'll have next month.

I just wanted to add that blogger is being a real pain with letting me upload a profile photo or any type of photo of myself on my page. If anyone has also had trouble with this and has tips for me let me know! but for now I'll insert a picture of myself here that was taken today so ya'll can see my face.

First Post- Birthday Haul!

Hello Everyone!
If anyone is there. This is my first blog post so it's highly likely that no one's reading this and I'm just typing to myself which is fine with me. I decided to start this blog and may also start making youtube videos, but I'm not positive about that yet. I have a lot of things to work out with my camera equipment and such.

Anyways, My name is Callie and I'm 20 years old if anyone is hypothetically reading this :)

For my first post I decided to do a little birthday haul since my birthday was about a week ago now so let's jump in.

From my wonderful boyfriend, I got two perfumes that I have been really wanting:
He got me this Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy gift set from Sephora. It's amazing and i love this scent. It includes the eau de parfum, shower gel, and body lotion. Plus, the packaging is super adorable.

He also got me this cute little rollerball perfume called Sugar Lychee by Fresh. We have both been loving the Fresh fragrances and his current fragrance is Cannibas Santal by Fresh. It's a unisex sent, but quite manly and musky. Both have great lasting power and smell awesome. Sugar Lychee reminds me a bit of Lemon Pledge....yes, what you use for dusting...which may not sound too appealing, but I guess you'll just have to smell it for yourselves :)

Over the weekend me and my mom went to the mall to do some birthday shopping.

See those amazing flats? Yes! I have been wanting studded flats for so long. I walked into ALDO and fell in love with those babies so quick I HAD to have them. The little studded bag/wristlet and the denim shirt are both from urbanoutfitters, and the high waisted shorts are from Heritage.

Well, now I'm gonna be checking out some blogs, gathering some tips, and subscribing to other people. If you like what you've seen here so far go right ahead and subscribe! I plan to be keeping up with this and posting often.
